Boozy Milkshakes | July 13, 2017
Hi, I’m Nadine, the intern for Tovolo from Switzerland and I’m excited to be doing a Tovolove takeover this week!

Last week we shared our favorite little addition to a milkshake, mini cookies! This week, we are amping up those milkshakes with a different little something extra. That’s right, you guessed it…booze! One of the first things I learned here at Tovolo is that adding a little booze makes everyone just a little bit happier.

Summer time is happy hour time, and we can’t get enough of summer drinks and ice cream. So what better to do than combine them into one delicious treat? After a little internet rummaging, I had a few ideas for fancy boozy milkshakes. And that’s how I started…

Far away from Switzerland, I try to integrate a little from my culture in everything I do. My favorite is making typical food from my home country in combination with American food. Switzerland is part of everything I do, even though I feel more and more like an American.

There is this German proverb, “Alle guten Dinge sind drei!” which means, “All good things are three!” We use it in every type of conversation – when we talk about food, or a family with three kids. Originally, the proverb was meant to say that if you fail on the first try, you have two more to do it right. So don’t give up and give it another try! But if you fail three times, you probably should stop and look for something else.

If we take the original meaning of the proverb, I have three tries to make a delicious boozy milkshake for you. I gave it a try, three times, and I can say that every one of these three drinks is good. They are easy to make and quickly drunk. And with three different boozy milkshakes to choose from, there should be one for every taste. Find the one you like the most of these three drinks: a Piña Colada Milkshake, a Margarita Milkshake and a Boozy Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake!
Proscht! Cheers!
